Do classes run year round? + -
Our centre provides lessons all year round, with our heated facilities you can join with the certainty that your child won't miss out in the colder months.
Do I need to book every week? + -
No, bookings are continuous. Once you have booked in a class time that suits you, your spot in that class is reserved for you. Please see our terms and conditions for more details as some conditions may apply.
How much are lessons? + -
With lessons from $29.50 we pride ourselves on high quality, by ensuring a limited number of students per class your child receives the attention they require to progress.
How can I tell my child is progressing? + -
Our teachers get to know each and every child in their class and provide a lesson update in our system. This means you have real-time access to your child's progression at your fingertips. Just log in to our customer portal and you can see their progress.
When should my child start classes? + -
Swimming is a skill for life, we provide lessons for students of all ages and it's never too late to start learning. Enrol now to ensure your child gets a head start when it comes to learn to swim.
How do I know which swimming level is right for my child? + -
Every child progresses differently, so their class is based on a combination of age, water confidence and current swimming ability. You can use our Find Your Level tool to help identify the most suitable starting point, or speak with our team and we can help guide you into the right class.
How many children are in each swimming class? + -
We keep our class sizes small so instructors can provide more individual attention to each swimmer. Class sizes vary depending on the level, with many beginner classes limited to just three students and other levels increasing as children become more independent and confident in the water.
Do parents need to get into the pool with their child? + -
Parents or carers participate in the water during our familiarisation stages for babies and younger toddlers. As children become more confident and independent, our program gradually prepares them to transition into classes without a parent in the water.
What if my child is nervous or scared of the water? + -
Thatβs completely okay. Our program is designed to help children build confidence gradually and at their own pace. Younger children can begin with water familiarisation, while our beginner levels focus on helping nervous or inexperienced swimmers become comfortable and independent in the water before progressing to more advanced skills.
Is the pool heated? + -
Yes. Our pools are heated year-round, generally between 32Β°C and 34Β°C, helping create a comfortable learning environment for children even during the cooler months.
Are AustGrade swimming instructors qualified? + -
Yes. AustGrade is an AUSTSWIM Gold Accredited Swim School, and our instructors are trained to provide safe, high-quality swimming education for children. Our staff hold relevant qualifications including AUSTSWIM accreditation, CPR and First Aid, Working with Children Checks and ongoing child safety training.
Do swimming lessons include water safety? + -
Yes. Water safety is an important part of the AustGrade program and is incorporated alongside swimming skills. Depending on their level, children learn skills such as safe water entry and exit, floating, breath control, reaching safety, understanding pool rules and responding appropriately around water.
What should my child bring to their swimming lesson? + -
We recommend bringing comfortable swimwear, goggles and a towel. It can also be handy to pack a snack for after the lesson, especially for younger swimmers.
Β
What happens after my child has mastered the learn-to-swim levels? + -
AustGrade's program continues from water familiarisation and skill development through to stroke development. More advanced swimmers can progress towards the Achievers stage, where squad-style coaching helps swimmers continue developing their technique, stamina and swimming ability.

Such a friendly and welcoming swim school, in particular Alex, who has done such an amazing job at making our kids feel comfortable and confident in the waterPosted on Google Map RoyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My first impression of Austgrade Swim School wasn't great. The pool isn't very big and essentially it is loacated within a large room. There is nothing more in the room except the pool. However, once meeting the instructors, my opinion completely changed. They are very knowledgeable in their ability to teach kids of different ages and abilities to swim. Although the kids learn to swim in groups, personalised approaches are given to each one. They really know what the kids can do and what they need to continue working on to improve. Each time I have been to the pool, all the instructors were working hard. They are very professional, friendly and courteous. They bring much fun and laughter to the kids.Posted on Google Y βGuGuβ GTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Itβs a fantastic swimming school, could not be happier!! We have tried different swimming lessons/school and this by far is the best. Our instructor Alex is very caring, loving, patient and has good strategy to deal with various emotions of different kids. Unlike other swimming schools we experienced before, I can tell my daughter is really learning to swim not just playing and be comfortable with water. Each lesson you can see her progress bit by bit, which makes us very happy. Overall itβs a very loving swimming school where kids really learn how to swim. Very grateful towards our instructors Alex!Posted on Google Brooke RyanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Couldnβt be happier, my 7 year old son was so scared and didnβt have confidence in the water with in just a few weeks that fear was completely gone. He has been attending swim school here for about 8 weeks now and he can swim! All the staff are lovely and caring also great venue. 5 stars Plus more (mascot)
